New album on Pirate´s Choice

NEW CD AVAILABLE NOVEMBER THE 1ST

“Pirate´s Choice” presents “Rub A Dub Showcase Part II”, a compilation that brings together all of the Pirates Choice 10” releases as well as some tasty unreleased tracks. 17 cuts produced by Ambassah, recorded between 2005-2011, all of which carry the heaviest early 80´s rub a dub sound.

The album begins with Sugar Minott’s “Time To Know” over the “Monday Sounds” riddim, which was the debut Pirates Choice 10”(PCR10”001). From PCR10”003, riding this same riddim is the veteran rootsman Horace Martin, bringing forth a fresh reinterpretation of his 70’s classic “Awake Jah Jah Children”. DJ’s Ranking Forrest and Jah Breeze give the Monday Sounds riddim the early 80’s combination style treatment with “Two The Hard Way”.

Other notable releases to be found on this compilation are “Love and Glory” by UK Singer Kenny Knotts (featuring Sly Dunbar on drums) and “Money Talks” from Barcelona based Uk Singer Ben Jammin’. Both songs are taken from the second Pirate’s Choice 10” (PCR10”002). Ben Jammin’ is heard again on his heartfelt composition “Real”, which was released as the side b of PCR10”001 as well as on “Rub A Dub Showcase Part 1”.

Some of the unreleased gems to be found here are “Crying Fe Money” from the legendary rootsman  Linval Thompson (a tune to be included on his upcoming PCR showcase LP), “Seek Your Goals” by Alpheus (again with Sly Dunbar on drums), and four heavyweight “Dub Generation” versions. All the material on this album was recorded and mixed at “A-Lone Ark Muzik Studio” by Roberto Sanchez.
